Anne-Marie and Katie are two friends who have been having Afternoon Tea dates in Manchester for a couple of years now. Follow our blog to find our recommendations of where and where not to go in town!
One of our benchmarkers for assessing the quality of the Afternoon Tea takes into account the quality of the scone (depending on how you say it, SCON or SC-OH-NE if we go for a phonetic spelling). The story of the Lone Ranger, according to urban folklore was about the story of the only surviving Texan Ranger left for dead and found by a Native American called Tonto following an attack by a band of outlaws in the American Old West. To cut a very long story of American iconic culture short, the Lone Ranger and Tonto follow the trail to seek justice for the ambush. Given the principle ethos is about seeking justice, we decided to become the Scone Rangers – Northern Tea Tours to seek out the finest Afternoon Teas in Manchester and provide an honest consumer review of this quintessential British Institution. Also, Katie has just become a Mummy so we have a little Sconto in tow with us too. Incidentally, Tonto can be translated as “wild one” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Check out our monthly blog, all our opinions are our own. It is also not our intention to totally berate an establishment so our feedback will be honest but fair.
We hope you can join us in 2017. Places on our list to visit are Tea Hive, Hotel Gotham, Great John St Hotel and Menagerie
